Grand forum de la prévention du suicide
2 au 4 novembre 2026The Quebec Suicide Prevention Forum will take place from November 2nd to November 4th, 2026, in the Quebec City area, at the Lévis Congress Centre.
This year, we hope to offer a programme full of variety, inclusivity, and rich content to be able to explore suicide prevention through an integrative lens. The goal is to not only explore the different dimensions of suicide prevention but also to highlight innovative ways to meet specific challenges in certain communities and populations, all while taking technological advances in our field into account.
We encourage you to share your submissions in order to showcase your research and experience in the field, to lend your voice to the conversation surrounding current matters in suicide prevention, and contribute to furthering knowledge in this field.
This not-to-be-missed event will bring together approximately 500 professionals, counsellors, researchers, and managers involved in suicide prevention to share, learn, and network with one another.
Themes
Tracks
The event, which lasts three days, has been organized with three separate themes in mind to give each day its own distinctive flavour. The themes chosen are:
- Youth: bullying, awareness campaigns, evolving statistics for this age group, mainstream and specialist media filled with topics relating to suicide prevention in youth.
- Artificial intelligence (AI): more and more present in different aspects of life. Whether it has to do with its relevance in the context of intervention or chatbot usage as companions or to gather information on mental health; AI is a subject worth exploring further.
- Suicide prevention in Quebec – review and perspectives: suicide prevention in Québec has now reached the half‑century mark. It also marks the end of a cycle for Québec’s suicide prevention strategy (Stratégie nationale de prévention du suicide). Between achievements, the richness of the sector, upcoming challenges, and innovative practices: a field looking toward the future!
Various subjects
At the same time as the three themed days, there will be other conferences, panels, and other events not necessarily related to the three themes. The programming committee would like to encourage you to submit your ideas, even if they aren’t related to these three themes.
There are so many subjects to explore. Agricultural communities, adapting to cultural contexts, indigenous peoples, armed forces or police, best practices, specific age groups or identities (seniors, men, sexual or gender minorities, bereaved people, etc.), intimate partner violence, addiction issues, etc. Feel free to share!

Choose your format
To ensure a dynamic experience, your proposals can take on different formats.
Workshop
A workshop aims to involve participants through their thoughts, their lived experience, or their knowledge. They usually begin with a short presentation and end with a time to share the fruits of whatever work was done in small groups during the workshop. Be sure to prepare the format of your workshop and include it in the form. You should also include how long the activity will last.
Conference (30-45-60-75 minutes or lightning)
A conference is the more traditional format of a presentation where one facilitator who has a specific expertise speaks in front of an audience. The length of a conference can be variable.
Panel
A panel is a discussion between experts facilitated by a moderator. It can serve as a way to dig deeper into a subject, as well as hear from different perspectives that can be contradictive or multidisciplinary, for example.
Poster
A poster will be exposed throughout the conferences during the Forum. Posters usually aim to inform about a research process or results. It is both a written and illustrated review of the research in question.
